I’d recommend going with a full table to start with, even if it’s older or only 4’x4’. You can always rebuild/extend the table itself, as well as motors and gantry.

Those little guys aren’t very stable and will have trouble with the speeds needed for thinner metal (14 Ga and thinner) and you won’t be happy. Id start with a better table and go with a 45 torch if the money is tight, the resale on the Hypertherm units is spectacular and when you upgrade you could always keep it as a hand unit. The other thing is the drive system & programming, a full table swap is going to throw you back to square one learning a new system.

The 85 is a great machine and what I run, it’s a beast for sure!

Thanks!

I’ve found that a few extra minutes on some aspects of these things make a world of difference.

AMU No blame assigned, and all love to our Horn E(nthusiast) friends like Parts, LOL.

Where abouts are you generally located? Curious, because at some point in the future, I am going to need somebody to build out some custom steel doors for a masonry cooker design that I have in my head that I will someday execute on.
BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

I am in Fort Worth, right on the edge of Kennedale. I’d be more than happy to take care of some fab for you.

That is way cool! Where did you get that steering axle? Been looking all over online, can't find it.
