The man can flat build a rig. I miss mine.

WTH, a 401k is overrated these days anyway.

Thunder Horse, Holstein, Mad Dog, Atlantis, Mardi Gras? Son flew out to Thunder Horse yesterday.

Be safe.

Atlantis on the DD 2. And my boy is on the Thunder Horse PDQ right now as well. We both work for service companies.

Houma is a nice town. A lot of good places to eat and drink beer.

If you haven't tried it, stop in at 1921 for some boiled crawfish and cold beer. Address is 1921 Barrow St. and crawfish are getting good. Their charbroiled oysters are mightyfine as well.

Thanks, I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. Now I just need to get home so I can give it a go. I had a professional come photograph it before I came offshore. Just got the proofs of that deal last night. And those pics really look good.

Where do you store a trailer like that? I've been thinking about a trailered pit, but don't have the space at the house for one.

And before anyone asks, yes, I have asked the wife if we could move because our place is not accommodating to my ideal trailered rig and she said no.

I have room at the house for it. But in time I will probably put it in storage when not in use.

Sanchezrc2, send me a pm and I will share some of the details with you. But the pit turned out great, and it is a dream to cook on. It is just extremely functional all the way around.

I have only been able to make 2 cook offs since I had it built. Both cook offs had 50 plus teams, but haven't hit in any category yet, but that's not the pits fault. I have been out of it for quite some time. And it is a very different ball game now from when I gave it up. Not sure that I agree with some of the things going on these days, but it is what it is.

With you in that. At the end of the day, you cook it the way you think it oughta be, and let the chips fall where they wish.

For sure Boots, apparently gone are the days of selecting your grade or choice of meat and seasoning it to your liking and cooking it to perfection. I know that first cook off I went to since I have got back in it an injected brisket won it. But at the same time the rules are the same for everyone. So you just have to decide which direction you want to go. I will say that no one has a bigger party or a better time, and that in itself brings me great joy and pleasure. Along with cooking quality BBQ.
