The Old Country Angus is basically the same pit and it's 1/4" throughout for 1599.00. I was ogling one the last time I was in Academy my credit card was trying to jump out my wallet. :laughing7:

Actually like KAM said i think its 3/16 instead of 1/4 and no baffles...

hes not budging on the price, i dont see 1800 and 700 to get it blasted.. at 2500 i might as well buy a new on.. worst case 1500 at academy is looking mighty fine lol i dont know how much of a impact the thinner metal will make... and no tuning plates kind of sucks

If he is not willing to negotiate I would tell him in the next month or so I will be buying so when you want to get serious give me a call I may still be looking. If he would come down to about 1200/1500 it would be worth it to have it blasted and painted.

With a 24" x 48" cooking chamber on a 10 hour cook I would think your looking at about 10 to 15 splits 12" to 15" long and about 3.5" diameter.

darn he will not budge from the 1800, so its 1800 for this one, i called lsg and it'd be about 3200 for a new one and 18 week time frame. or the 36 patio deluxe by lang for the easy 1000.00 who ever said deciding on a smoker was easy :(

Any recommendations on how to get this thing out back to the patio lol??

LSG builds good pits. But 1800 is steep. I got a custom built Rock W Pit (jambo clone) for $2,500. Rockin W is in Euless/Hurst, TX area.

I have a Lang 36" patio pit and love it. It cooks great. The only caveat is that I wish it was bigger. They are actually built in Nakoma, Georgia. Get what you can afford as you can always upgrade at a later date. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply, Yes i heavily considered the Lang and the reverse flow was quite interesting, I'd hate to buy it and wish it was bigger then need to buy another, With the larger pit from LSG I can do chicken turkeys butts and briskets all at the same time, don't think i should ever "need" another.

The lang was a Hybrid deluxe so that charcoal side did look interesting, indeed

Well ... This guy won't budge, and looks like my brain is kicking in and saying that's just too much invested for a used neglected smoker 1800 was ok but up to 700 extra dollars no...

So does anyone have any good ideas on offset recommendations under 2k.

I live in Pearland Texas if that helps. Thanks guys

Have you tried contacting Lonestar to see if they ever get anybody asking them about selling a used one so they can upgrade?
