Old hickory vs other compared pit

Postby g2outfitter » Sun May 22, 2016 6:51 pm

I borrowed one of my buddies old hickory rotisserie gas/wood smokers for a cancer benefit yesterday. That was the most amazing pit I had ever cooked on. Now im in the market. Are there any other companies that make similar pitts with that quality and hold temps that well. 18 hr cook I used 5 logs. And ince done cooking i used pit as holding chamber. Only problem is with door wide open it took 2 hours to drop temp from 250. I wss totally amazed.

Any others similar I should look at.
