Shirley Smokers vs Lang

Postby BRam03 » Fri Oct 14, 2016 3:09 pm

Welp, after months of searching I've finely narrowed down my smoker choices to Lang 48 or Shirley 50 (patio on both). Any input would be appreciated as this is truly a life changing decision.

Either of these would be an up-grade on my Old Country Pecos, but by current future needs are requiring a bit more cowbell.

Again, any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Both are good smokers, but the Shirley has better welding. This is important to some folks. I'd be happy to own either one.

I've seen both up close. The Shirley is second to none. As OSB said they are both good smokers.

Contact them and ask for references in your area so you can see one in person before buying.

Shirley cookers hands down. The quality of the cooker and customer service before and after the sale is second to none.

I have a Lang 36" patio pit. I love it. The welds may not be the best cosmetically, but it cooks great and is functional. If I were you and you can afford it, I would get a 48" pit as opposed to the 36". Just my opinion. Hope that helps.

Your wait will be worth it, Paul and Tyler are some great guys. They will do you a really good job. I recommend them all the time to folks looking for a builder.

I got my Shirley 24 x 50 and I've been over the moon happy. You'll forget about the wait time and be so glad that you didn't settle. Drafts like a freight train and cooks the best Que of my life!!

Have you received your order yet? How long was the wait? I just ordered on this morning and curious if the wait time is really as long as they estimate.

I want that Shirley to replace my finicky Yoder Wichita. Looks awesome.
