My new Stumps Junior uncrating process

Postby DogTag34 » Sat Jul 08, 2017 10:20 am

Have been waiting on this and got her last week and thought I'd post some pics on how I assembled this beast by myself for future owners to adapt to there own needs. The junior crated was 965 lbs. Here it is fresh off the truck.

Next I open and inspect.....the wheels are the headache as it's on a pallet.

So the idea is to shimy one leg off and get one wheel on. With one wheel on I used a floor jack to stablize and hold the other side up.

With one side done I am able to jack back side up, remove pallet and finish wheel install.

Then we're all set to clean, roll into its new home and season......

Sooooo that's how I did it, probably better with two people.....but doable. Hope that helps someone with some info they might get easier ideas.

965#?? I'm thinking those tires are not going to cut it, you need to order some steelbelted radials.

That is one gorgeous vault. Now, you do know of course, it has to be properly christened?

Your lady is going to have to smack it gently over the top with a bottle of champagne, there's going to have to be formal speeches of celebration, and if it all possible and permitted by city statute, a customary firing of a 5 blast salute (which means pulling the plug out of your quail gun). Then, AND ONLY THEN, does military protocol permit the initial firing of the cooker... preferably accompanied by appropriate musical accompaniment. If I might humbly suggest, the 1812 Overture is an excellent selection, followed by a champagne toast amongst all the guests then present (you are having a firing up party, right?). If your guests are a little more lively, then by all means, pass out the French 75's, after all, you only break in a new cooker once. Vive le Cooker!!

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."
