Oklahoma Joe Bandera for $89

Postby jwh » Tue Aug 15, 2017 1:45 pm

Here at the local Walmart, they have a couple of OKJ Banderas for $89. I have very little knowledge of smoker brands, and May was my first smoke, after having been given a WSM 22.5. However, $89 seems to be pretty cheap.

Cheap does not necessarily mean I should get it, though.

What do you think?

I am not in need of a new smoker, but $89 . . .
I have a WSM 22.5"

Should I just save the money?

Pretty low grade smoker, VERY thin metal..lots of leaks, poor airflow, but cheap!

Either take the 89.00 and put it towards a better offset or take mamma out on the town.

I looked at it......you'll use a lot of fuel in it.....too thin. The savings up front will be consumed in fuel costs quickly. On top of that it appears you will have more heat/smoke loss with all the leakage....unless it was just the display model--nothing fits tight....lots of leaks. So it's no savings to you.....pass

This piece uses lots of fuel. I would recommend you to go for a bit higher price segment that will only add more flavor to your meat for sure.
