I'm picking one up in the next week or so:

I plan to use it mostly for competitions (dragging a backwoods and a traeger isn't the most efficient :) ). I'm expecting a learning curve, anything specific I should look out for (besides burnt meat? )

Chad seems like a great guy, his pit work reputation is great, and 8 weeks is better than 11-32 months for some of the others :)
