Vertical Smoker - new to me

Postby Tejano0369 » Sun Mar 24, 2019 7:12 pm

Found on Offer Up: $20 for a brinkmann vertical smoker, guy threw in a charcoal chimney, a bag of royal oak, half a bag of kingsford, a box of wood chunks, and some lighter fluid. Thermometer doesn’t work, tho.
Stopped by the carwash on the way home and washed it out. Did a little more scrubbing when I got home. It’s fired up with an inaugural tri-tip (or as the wife calls it, a trisket). This is my first time using a vertical smoker, hope it all turns out ok.

Usually Brinkman used thicker steel on the models that have that heavy cast iron wheels.

I have never seen that model before. You might want to consider using that as strictly a firebox for a future modded Smoker Plan if your volume needs increase.
