Offset on an incline

Postby Raider18 » Fri Jun 07, 2019 3:35 pm

For 6 years I've wanted a quality offset and have been practical and convinced myself I do not need one. I've recently decided I have the money and there is no need to be practical and get what I want. Only downside is the one I want will not fit on my porch and will have to be kept in the garage and rolled out each time I use it.

My driveway has a slant has anyone used vehicle ramps to make them even? Any other practical ideas?

It doesn’t really have to be even. You just don’t want your grease running back towards the fire box.

If you must achieve a Level, I would think about attaching or changing two of the legs to get it done. :dont:

I have used vehicle ramps to achieve a level, but i do use leveling blocks. You do want a slight grade away from the firebox as Grailsback mentioned so you dont get a grease fire.

A couple of cheap scissor jacks might do the trick. Just make sure to chalk the uphill wheels first.

I have an inclined patio and I found a simple solution is to just prop the down side legs, or wheels with a block of wood under them until the smoker is level. A typical 2x4 works fine.
