Hey everyone!
Just placed my order for a 250 Gallon Primitive Pit on a cart with casters. Added an insulated firebox, And top grates.
Anyone own a similar pit built by primitive? Anyone have any experience with primitive pits?
Thanks!

Welcome aboard. They make some cool looking pits. Unfortunately that is the extent of my knowledge

Re: Primitive pits
Afraid my experience with these pits is zero as well. After looking at their web site, they look to be very nice units. Saw one yesterday watching BBQ Pitmasters. Don’t recall who was cooking on it but they are out on the circuit with it. If you didn’t get the probe inlets, I’d really consider doing so. It will keep from destroying the leads. That is of course if you use probes. If not, check into them. They have been a huge benefit to me.

Re: Primitive pits
They are awesome pits. Hurtado BBQ in Arlington, TX uses them. Brandon the owner showed me around the pit room and as we were talking their 1000 gallon pits ran themselves and held even temps from the firebox to the smokestack. I just purchased a new backyard pit, but if I ever decide to get a small trailer pit their Workhorse trailer pit will probably be the one I look at first.

Re: Primitive pits
Have pit prices jumped up much? I picked up some steel the other day and holy crap have prices gone nuts. I’ve had to requote some item recently as a result. Glad I built my pit already.
