I have always been and offset stick burner guy, Not really a griller and always thought charcoal was for hot dogs and dutch ovens. I recently moved and needed a good backyard pit so I ordered an offset backyard pit. On a whim I also picked up the Primo I figure I could use it for steaks and burger and give away my old kettle.
I am wow'ed by the cooker. I truly believe you can cook anything on this thing. Load it up with lump fire it off, let her heat up then set it for any temp you need, put you grub on and forget it. Easiest to control cooker I ever owned and it really produces a juicy product.
I have always been the family go to guy for family gathering large cooks, brisket, ribs, chicken your basic standards. Now I am learning to grill all sorts of things and loving it. Why I never tried a "flower pot" before I'll never know.
