Starting a smallish prime rib

Postby sparetimetoys » Sun Sep 24, 2017 6:53 pm

Found this while cleaning out the freezer the other night. Just a simple salt n pepper smoke n eat. We will see how it goes. Going to toss it on the soapstone for a sear once internal is where we want it. Never know until you try.

Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

Looks like a 3 boner ??
I'm betting it comes out great. Best Prime Rib I've ever had came off a kamado.

Ok, let the jokes begin lol

I sort of took a nap and it got overly done. But we still ate the thing.

I would dig into that. The Mrs would concentrate on a salad, too much fat, plus there is pink   :dont:

Then we would make a perfect pair. You can have the pink, but only half the fat, and I'll enjoy the remainder that was properly cooked. :chef: :chef: (Sorry, had to sneak that one in) :deadhorse:

If it's any consoaltion ,that doesn't look "overly done" to me. Or maybe I just prefer a more cooked piece of meat over a slightly raw one :chef:
