Pitts & Spitts question

Postby Aneura » Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:05 pm

Hello,

New here, looks like a great place! I've been looking at Yoder & Pitts & Spitts for a few weeks now, I think I'm settled on the P&S.

Looking to upgrade (a big upgrade) to a Pitts & Spitts Maverick 1250 - My question is, has anyone here used the upright smokebox on the P&S pellet smokers? I'd love any feedback, its an expensive option but I don't want to regret not getting it.

Thanks!

Most of the upright smokers are used as a warming option. The upright portion has a significant heat loss compared to the main (cooking) portion. My opinion, I would not pay extra for this option.Pitts and Spitts make great smokers and you will not be disappointed.
How bout some more beans Mr.Taggert? I'd say you've had enough!

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking of maybe using the upright for cold smoking

Usually, if the smoker is not the cheapest, then it allows you to make both hot and cold smoked products. I'm sure Pitts and Spitts is a cool buy.

I have a Pitts & Spitts Maverick 2000 without the upright smoke box. If you have any questions on the Pellet smoker itself, let me know.
