Re: Green Mountian pellet cookers
Well I can say one thing about Green Mountain Pellet cookers - their customer service STINKS!
After multiple phone calls and multiple emails - I cant get anyone at the company to even return my phone call - to buy a smoker from them - it makes me wonder what would happen IF I did buy one and have a problem????
So long Green Mountain, hello Treager.

I have had similar experience with Traeger corporate but their dealers are good. Could be that GMG dealers are good too if you could ever find one.
A friend recently bought a Sierra pellet cooker and it looks and cooks good however he has experienced a couple of pellet auger jams using the same pellets I use in the Traegers without problems.

I would have to agree with Papa Tom, although I have not dealt with Traeger Corporate, my local dealer has been fantastic.
Thanks,

Re: Green Mountian pellet cookers
the only thing i am not sure about with traegers is how they are now built in china. now, i don't own one, but from what i have read/heard the quality is not as good as it was when they were made here. have heard folks even talk about not buying a new one(they have a older one already) because of that.
but alas i wish i was more informed to help you out. oh and your rubs are outstanding.

Re: Green Mountian pellet cookers
Given the price of the Traegers and what I've seen of them in person, I would be more inclined to look at other options...and I am looking. One line that I havent seen in person, but would like to get a good look at is the Cookshack cabinet type of electric smokers. They appear to be well built on the net pictures, but I'd want to see one in person.
