Using Hockey Sticks for Shelf and Grilling Tools Hangars

Postby PawPaw » Sun May 03, 2015 4:00 pm

We use to have hockey billets and they left behind several broken hockey sticks. So decided to put them to use on my Traeger Lil Tex.
I needed a bottom shelf and somewhere to hang those grilling tool utensils and mittens.

So I took the broken hockey shafts and used them for the bottom shelf and used the blades and short shaft for the hangars, as seen in photos.

Hope this gives ideas to other hockey enthusiasts needing a bottom shelf and utensil hangars.

My granddaughter is our family "chick with a stick" played hockey through HS but is in college now. I think they sold their Traeger but I'l bet she has a collection of sticks.

Seriously considering on adding a spice rack on the front top side of the pellet hopper. Haven't thought it completely thru yet as to what parts of the hockey to use, the shafts or the blade, or a combination.

Here is a picture of my grand kids, don't lave the latest picture of the oldest - just the 2011/12 season.

Thanks for the compliments.
