Merry Christmas with my First Brisket!

Postby Coreysjohnson1 » Sun Dec 24, 2017 8:45 am

Merry Christmas everyone. Got my smokepro LUX in finally and planning to smoke my very first brisket overnight tonight for Christmas dinner tomorrow! Plan to do a salt and pepper rub fat side up and let it run on the high smoke setting! Can’t wait to put this 17lb bad boy on later! :D

Do a dry run to season properly or you will regret it. I few hours will make a big difference. Best of luck with it. Post some pics.

There are lots of good start up articles on here. I always get a spray bottle filled with veg oil and spray all surfaces real well with it for initial seasoning.

First Brisket came out good. I have to get a better knife for slices but the flavor was there and still lots to learn!
