Yea Em...I ain't too excited bout the game either. Been going to a buddies house on SB Sunday longer then I care to admit.
I ain't watched a NFL game all year. Be a good excuse to eat and drink too much. :drunk:
Probably be pulling for the Eagles. Their coach was a local kid.

Good advice from Em on lower temps. Youll get more smoke flavor with the lower temps. Ive got a couple of racks of ribs in my pellet that I started 5 hours ago. Running it at 225. Not ready to wrap yet.
No point in getting in a hurry, game don't start for another 5 hours

Thanks Bill. I am liking the smell and color so far, have to wait for the taste.

A little sneak preview. Out for wrapping. These got Sooner sauce as a binder, and "thankfully" the last of my Adkins rub with my tweaks. 3 hrs at 250, wrap for 2 hrs at 275, then out for the last hr.

Final pic. Turned out ok, not the amount of smoke, or smoke ring I'm used to. Will have to experiment further.

If that’s your starting point then you are in pretty good shape!

Definitely a learning curve. I spent more time with this than I do my stick burner.

To produce more of a smoke flavor, when desired, we set our YS640 to around 175°-185°F and let it go for a while, then kick it up to wherever we want it. With the way these cookers operate, the higher the cooking temperature, the less smoke is produced, so going "low" for a period of time will maximize smoke generation.
The ribs look good!

Yeah, I did just that on the second cook but it was real cold so I think that was a factor. I'll have to get some more pellets and try again soon. Thanks for the advice from another Yoder owner.

Looks great. The Yoder was my runner up choice for grill. One I'm sure we'd have been pretty happy with too.

Keep us informed on how it does. :)

I think you will like the convenience of pellets, and the Yoder folks seem to be very satisfied with their cookers....

My only comment now is I love the convenience of the pellet grill, but it will never replace my stick burner for the flavor I expect from good Q. I'm still experimenting with cook times, temps, and pellets but can not duplicate what my Johnson smoker with properly aged oak can produce.
