Louisiana Pellet Grill

Postby Bigtank » Fri Jul 13, 2018 10:00 am

I have a chance to get a really good deal on a 900. I have not seen any comments on Louisiana brand and just wanted to know thoughts and feelings if anyone has them or has used them. Thanks

I haven't seen any discussion on the Louisiana Pellet Grills here on this Forum that I can remember :dont:

Louisiana Brand pellet grills are good, although I have never had one I know several that do have them and really like them.

Louisiana is the uber line of Danson grills, I own a Pit Boss 820 which is the China Made lower Danson and I like it.

I've seen a few YouTube reviews that I considered credible, back when I was looking for a replacement for the Traeger.

Don't remember the exact URLs for the reviews but the short version is the reviewers liked them. The only two real knocks I remember is that they thought the sheet metal was a little on the thin side and the paint could have been better quality and would need touch up with BBQ paint over time. Keep in mind that's all second hand and over a year old though. Best to judge for yourself at the store and talk to actual owners.

FWIW, the one that Costco is carrying now seemed like pretty decent construction to me when I got a look at it a month or two ago.

I just picked up the LG900 Pro with smoke box at Costco for a really great price, roughly 60% off! Started building it yesterday, just gotta put the smoke box on and then to cook it off and then season it. This is my first pellet grill, wish me luck.

There’s some guys here that are very knowledgeable on pellets; if you get hung up or have a question ask them

I started using a Pellet Grill last summer, after years of using both a WSM and a stickburner. I *love* it! Haven't used anything else since. Bought a Camp Chef Woodwind with SG.

Have fun and good luck!

The problem with this kind of post is that, "unless" an attentive Member has a Louisiana Pellet Grill, you'll have trouble getting an answer to your "exact" question. Good Luck  :salut:
