well I came home on days off last month I work oilfield
and I was going to cook some more on it and it kept popping fuses
called tech support come to find out the auger motor was bad they sent me one
they were back orders so I just now got it and installed it ..
was careful took it all apart paid attention on how it came apart
installed the new auger motor and then cleaned up the auger tube the grill the pot etc made sure it was clean
went to fire up the grill cause was going to cook some chicken breasts
needed to let the grill pre heat and temp kept climbing and it kept loading pellets and kept loading pellets
like it wont stop like it is stuck in prime mode Thursday after noon is when this happened and I waited on the phone for an anser on hold when I phoned pitboss now I cant get ahold of them
what could be this issue it got bad it even overloaded pellets and small explosion had a fire got it put out but it does not stop loading pellets

Greeting and welcome to the forum, do post often (as time allows) and include pictures..
Sorry to hear of your pit boss woes... I am sure they will get you up and running in time, the problem is time as I see it on your schedule you will probable be back on shift and it may take a while to get the pellet muncher running the way you want it to, There are a lot of PB owners out there, several on here. I guess that explains why my patio looks like a bbq store, two pellet munchers, gasser, webber kettle, electric smoker, pizza turntable; The point is if one dont work one of the other will until I get the one I want fixed. I have been down that road a few times, it is frustrating, good luck hang in there you will get it in time

so far so good its maintaining temp real well..
im trying something different this time I soaked a brisket in claudes all night in a foil pan..
and this morning I emptied the pan put new claudes in and cookin the brisket in the pan top of the pan is open so we will see how well this turns out
I enjoyed my Austin I hope the control board solves the issue lol if not well not sure what to do

Re: PitBoss austin XL
Higher temps come from burning more pellets so perhaps the auger is clogged up with congealed pellet mash/dust (from wet pellets and debris) or it's not turning fast enough.
Are you relying on the units temp readings or are you measuring with a remote digital probe?
