I'm new to pellet grills and bought a Pit Boss 340.
I did the hopper priming procedure. Then I tried to do the grill burn off.
I started it on smoke. After the smoking stopped, I raised the temp to 475.
30 minutes later, the LCD said 475 but the actual temp gauge said 275.
10 minutes after that the LCD started counting down even though I still had it set to 475. The actual temp gauge still said 275.
When the LCD finally read 140, I gave up and turned it off.
What did I do wrong?

Re: New Pit Boss not heating up
Reboot like a computer maybe. My Traeger will sometimes go off program strangely (maybe auger gets stuck on a jammed pellet or something) and I just unplug and restart so it reboots the computer routine. Seems to work.
BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

I tried again and it worked that time.
The actual temp gauge on the lid never got above 275 but I'm reading that that is a common problem with the Pit Boss grills.
