When the things first came out the first of the year, I almost bought one, but after reading post after post about the problems it had, I passed on the new Weber Smokefire and eventually got the Masterbuilt 560 then later the 1050 grills.
The past week I started reading everything current about the Smokefire, and it seems after so many months people started getting those problems ironed out after Weber came out with several upgrades to the auger system, pellet feed system and the upgrades to firmware and software.
Long story short. My EX6 Smokefire will be here next week.

Re: Well, I Did It
Congratulations
I think you will be happy. I got mine in July I think. Had problems on day one. Called Weber and they sent me the upgrade kit with auger, motor etc. After that it has been rock solid. Just finished another fatty tonight and it keeps the temp spot on during entire cook. We have about 32F outside now and no problem firing it up and get it warm.
Look forward to seeing your cooking on it

Re: Well, I Did It
I second what Joe said. It was touch and go at the start, but now its running like a champ. We use it more than any other grill at the house. In my experience, it does prefer Weber brand pellets though. Especially to get up to 600⁰

Re: Well, I Did It
Weber is a solid supplier and I would be confident that the would get wrinkles ironed out.
