Debbies new disco. (updated pics 03/17/13)

Postby k.a.m. » Sun Mar 17, 2013 7:45 am

When Debbie and I were up in Missouri visiting a close Friend she spied a pile of 24" disc's and asked Troy if she could get one, of course Troy was eager to oblige knowing I was without a current project. Well life got in the way when we returned home but here I go.
My son had it sand blasted for me at his work place.
Image

I filled the hole next, these disc's are right at 3/16" thick.
Beveled and ready for a plug.

After cleaning up the welds I marked the disc down to 20" diameter, this is the size Debbie was looking for.

Image

Next I dissected the disc into fourth's for referencing handles and diving boards.

Center punch the marks for later on.

I put two 6" x 8" diving boards on this one.

Today I will start the new burner stand for this one.

I've definitely got a disco (or 2) on my to do list. Along with that weed burner...

Just need to finish my trailer pit first.

Do these cook better over low pressure burners or high pressure?

Thank You egghead. :D

Thank You CypertJ, :D I prefer to use a 6" low pressure banjo burner it puts out plenty of BTU's for disco cooking.

KAM- Very nice looking. I have 2 discs and really enjoy using them. I really like the sides and end caps you added to yours. Wouldn't mind having that on my 2 discs
