I would recommend the 22.5 Weber kettle. In addition to all the great points above, it has some really cool accessories.

The next piece of yard art I get will be stainless steel or ceramic. Leave a cooker uncovered here and you get rust. If you cover them you get a cooker full of mold.

DATsBBQ, make sure its pure SS bolts included not that cheap stuff. I have seen hot dipped Galvanized rust on the island.

Go with the Weber kettle savage_007 for all the valid points mentioned above. Weber is the best selling grill/oven in the world today, as bsooner75 posts there are more aftermarket accessories available for the Weber 22.5 than any other. bsooner75 has a pizza oven hooked up to his Weber rig you can swap that out for a rotisserie spit and ring made by Weber for the 22.5 Now you're into a whole new area of outdoor cooking. Butcher up a pork shoulder mount it on that shank and you'll be cooking like they do in Old Mexico, meat cooked with farr.

hang on to that 18" Weber if you can, use it to burn down lump char or raw wood for the farr, I use mine for shoulders and large chunks of beef, perfect size oven. The smaller the oven the easier it is to control the temperature ... Good Luck

I love my 22.5 in Weber and have gone through many hundreds of pound of charcoal with it. There is no more versatile grill.

I own and use two Big Green Eggs, a mini and a large. They don't rust out, have a life time warranty and provide very stable temperatures for extended cooks. I do everything from smoking to searing steaks. The grills are cranked up several days a week. I am smoking about 16 lbs of Canadian Bacon and American bacon this morning. Yesterday it was my Chrozio recipe. I don't like cooking on metal grills, maintaining temps is a challenge. I am the previous owner of 3 Webers and 2 gassers. They all went to the recycling yard after a couple of years of hard use or rust. I have never regretted buying the BGE's. To each his own and have fun.

I love MY Weber 22 OTS but the day is coming to replace it after 27 yrs. of service. I'm going to go with the 26, "Go big or go home". Get the 26 Size Matters!

the best all around grill... Like all have said depends on the application, I have cooked on lots and lots of different devices, some even resembled piles of rocks and a steel grate.
The way I make this kind of decision, is if I had to get rid of the electrics, pellet cookers, gasser, and could only have one which one would it be? Say if we were moving to an unfriendly bbq dwelling...
my vote is the Webber 22 I have had one and used it well over 15 years, of coarse it has been kept clean and out of the elements, recently gave my daughter an 18.5 for my birthday..

Personally, if budget isn't that big of a concern and depending on how much room you have and how many people you are cooking for, I would look at a Big Green Egg. It has a lifetime warranty, doesn't take up that much room and is very efficient. I have a large and have had no problems cooking for 6 - 8 people on it. I also don't have a lot of room for a larger offset smoker/grill.
