Blackstone Griddle Upgrade

Postby bsooner75 » Sat Jan 21, 2017 10:09 pm

Kids gave me the wrap around table add on for Christmas. It's very nice. Only thing I don't like is you have to fold it up to put the cover on. But my cover is wearing out so it may just get replaced by a tarp anyway.

Been looking at that accessory myself bsooner. Looks like it might act as a good wind deflector as a plus as well...
Do you notice like I do that the wind easily effects the flame with yours ??

Other than that, I absolutely LOVE my Black Stone !

Folded down it will make an excellent wind block.

Wind used to give me fits but I stumbled on an easy fix.…roll up some aluminum foil and stick it in the opening between the body and the cooking surface.

Looks great Boomer. Picked up a 17" Blackstone a few weeks ago. Love the darn thing! Fits nice on the side of my grill. I was tempted to buy the full size griddle but I knew the wife would freak out.

GeeDawg,

Do you have any photos of that one you bought? I was thinking about looking into one that size to keep in my motorhome. Right now I have a coleman propane skillet, but they have discontinued them.

Picked up the cover and carrying case on Amazon for $20.

The skillet is large enough for my needs. Weekend breakfasts in no time and minimal clean up. Fit seven 1/3 burgers from Sam’s. Browned up three pounds of ground beef for tacos.

Do you use a 20 pound propane tank or can you use one of the small canisters?

I'm looking at that same Blackstone. Target has it advertised for $80.00 right now. if I have my way I'm picking it up tomorrow.
It works with the small coleman type 16oz propane bottles.

Adapters are available to make the 20 lbs. cylinder hook-up. I think there used to be an adapter to refill the small ones from a 20 lbs. cylinder as well.

I went through three canisters before I decided to buy the attachment hose and switch to the 20lb propane.

[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] no...about five cooks. Used up one the first day curing the skillet a few times and throwing a ton of bacon on it.
