Burners won't light

Postby Jgibson79 » Sun May 28, 2017 3:54 pm

Last year cooking burgers on gas grill, and some grease or food caught fire with hood down. Since then burners won't fully light. Looks like one burner lights, but not even fully.

Took burners out and they don't appear blocked.

Any suggestions as to what might need replaced?

Thanks!

Could be the regulator. Nothing to do with your previous fire but sometimes they just fail and won't let enough gas through.

Thanks for the advice. Also, the burner connected to the igniter electrode is the only burner that ignites, but is very weak flame, and the whole length of the burner isn't igniting.

Could be as simple as the safety valve in the propane cylinder.
The newer tanks as in the last 10 years have a valve that sometimes don't open fully when you turn on the regulator. I've had that a few times.
Turn the regulator to the closed position then very slowly turn the regulator open. A buddy of mine showed me this trick and it's worked numerous times since

Edit ........
I meant the valve knob on the propane tank
