Old Smokey 14 Diffuser Plate

Had to get something smaller for the times when it’s just the wife and I. Decided on an Old Smokey 14”. Immediately added a temp guage I found at HEB. I’ve already cranked out some darn good wings and steaks on this little thing but decided that I’d like to dampen some of the direct heat for cooking chicken breasts etc. I remembered that I had a stockpot steamer insert I had set aside from my “Homebrew boil pot”
I decided to size it up and it fit nearly perfect. Popped a couple of screws through to allow the grill grate to set about half an inch above it and there it is. Ideally I’d like to have a little more space between the diffuser and grill grate but on this small setup it’s about all I’m gonna get. Throwing some breast on later this morning. Will keep posted!

Haven’t been on fb for a while. I do miss the groups part of it but can’t justify the rest! Feel free to share the photo and idea with them if you’d like.
