Gas grill burner types

I’m currently in the market for a new gas grill to go in my outdoor kitchen. I’ve seen options for linear burners and U or H burners. I’ve heard that the linear burners have hot and cold spots and the other types have a more even cooking surface. I have been unable to verify this on the Internet so if anyone can shed some light on this issue I would appreciate it. Thank you.
