if you need a UDS lid....

Postby txluke » Tue Feb 09, 2010 9:32 pm

Picked up this grill at Big Lots. The lid fits perfectly on my closed head drum. It was too small for my open head drums. The lid is right at 23" in diameter. It has a hook so you can hang it from the UDS and not set it on the ground. Not a bad deal for $29. You also get a grate that is ceramic coated and a charcoal grate that you can use for your fire box. I might try later to bend the lip over on the bottom half of the grill and see if I can use it for a lid for my open head drums. I am sure I will find a use for the other parts as well.

If you cut the bottom 2" below the lip it will fit into the drum and give you a good fitting lid and you can use the remainder of the bottom for a fire pit.
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

That was the first thing I thought of but the bottom half of the pit slides into the drum.
