Hi Everyone,
I have a few UDS questions I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I picked up a food grade drum. It appears this drum is lined? Does it need to be burned out first? -
which is what is holding me up, I don't have any junk wood at the moment only good wood I didn't want to waste.
I have seen pics of an intake pipe from the bottom to the top with a ball valve for adjustment. To me it does not look like
it would take in air through a pipe / valve facing upward. So, I'm planning on trying to control the temp and air with an
upper valve (on the lid) versus a lower ball valve intake adjustment. I'm still going to use nipples and caps at the bottom.
Does anyone have any thought or opinions on this? Is anyone using sched 40 pvc as lid exhaust vents?
Can I expect to be able smoke at temps lower than 225? Maybe 200-210?
'preciate it,
Slim

Re: UDS Questions
Upper valve(s) = Exhaust
Lower valve(S) = Combustion Air.
You'll want to control temp by controlling the fire (combustion air)
