I might cut him some slack on cleaning the ashes. The shop vac will probably complain less anyways.

I've been having trouble getting the temp down, it's been rocking on right at 300 all day. I'm going to try sealing around the intake nipples with some rtv after she's cooked off. If that doesn't help keep the temps down I'm just going to blame it on the size of the basket.

Try a half chimney of hot coals next time and have the 2 valves barely open and see what she does!

My UDS runs at 300' with the same adjustment on the valve and the other 2 closed , but I cook at 300' anyways . The nipples are welded on mine , so not sure the rtv will help .

Nice looking drum! I sure could use a little helper like that for some of the interior work. :D

How did those ribs come out?
