I am looking at the one from Harbor Freight and I am wondering if I need an adapter to hook it up? It looks long for a gas grill propane tank.

Picked up a Harbor Freight weedburner a while back - the thing works great. I didn't like having to hunt down a crescent wrench every time - not to mention it had to be a BIG crescent wrench (1-1/8" hex fitting) - so I made a wrenchless adapter out of some scrap wood I had from a wood project.

Cut out the center to match the hex head, added some ridges, a little routering to make things look better and came up with this........

No more wrenches needed. Hand tightened - no leaks. :thap:

I have been using a MAPP torch to light my weber kettle and my UDS and when lighting the lump I get all kinds of popping and fireworks happening! This happens on Royal Oak, Stubbs and any other type of lump I use. My question is , if I were to switch to a weed burner wouldn't that just blow the snot out of those embers??? I am trying to avoid getting burned and burning down the house! LOL

Well I bought one yesterday from Harbor Freight and WOW! Lit the lump in my Weber Kettle in NO time, definitely excited to use on my UDS and get the fire and pit up to temp much faster! I thought the MAP Torch was legit, this thing stomps it LOL!

I would watch out for the quality of the hose...there was one that just had a plastic hose and the other one had a rubber hose. Northern tool carries them too I believe.

I purchased the weed burner from Harbor Freight with the push button igniter. Works great!
