Not yet, the WSM holds temps too well. But, I may get one this winter if I see it becomes necessary. More to use when it is really windy, and that occassional cold Thanksgiving.

I have 1 pit minder. I think its great! I combine the guru with the smoking jacket on the WSM in the winter time. Below zero weather, sleet, snow or rain doesn't bother it at all. I do want to get one or two more.

However, I am thinking about the Stoker. One control unit can handle several smokers. The Guru needs a contol unit for each smoker. The Guru does advertise that you can control 2 fans with one control unit but you can only take the temp from one smoker to control both. Hmm... Maybe thats for the big log burners.

At the Winter Burn in DesPlaines I talked to the Fat Boyz that use an off set Char Griller type smoker. They said they had a devil of a time trying to control the heat until they attached a Guru to the firebox. After the attachment the smoker became a nice tame cooker.

As a side note, I use the Guru in bad weather. Damp or cold weather. I don't use it all the time.

I saw one on E-Bay a while back. I started at $20. Someone wanted it pretty bad cause it went for over $400 when all was said & done. BTW, I stopped at $30.

I know of many Kamado and BGE users who're happy as clams with their Gurus.

I've got a guru and used it frequently with my WSM :D . Love the fact that you can leave the WSM to do it's own thing without having to worry about the temps. Will likely use it on my new komodo kamado as well. 8)

Not really, into "deck" art maybe? (you should see our "lawn"; we have a drought here in Sydney)... The doggies like the BBQ as well; especially any scraps!

I just realised I went kinda off topic but you can see the guru on the table next to it (just a competitor not a procom)...
The connection is on the bottom right of the KK (not opened in this picture).
