White Butcher Paper From Sam's Safe?

Postby Bockbock » Tue Aug 11, 2015 9:10 am

Does anyone know if the White Butcher Paper at Sam's is safe to use for brisket? I know there has been some debate about it in the past. Thanks.

I've used it in a pinch in the past and haven't noticed much difference. You can order the same pink butcher paper Aaron Franklin uses from ABCO Paper Co. in Austin- 512-837-5887. A roll of 24" is like $45 plus shipping. It's worth it and it'll last you a long time. Plus the 24" width (the white paper at Sam's is 18" wide) gives you plenty of paper to wrap tightly.

It should be fine. FWIW, I like Uline butcher paper. They come in several widths, and you can get unbleached paper.
