Hello Sir, I have never used one as I buy my wood split. I do have a friend who has one and he says it works well with good seasoned dry wood. And he tends to split oak no bigger than a few inches diameter.

It has peaked my interest. I hate doing the log balance act on my darn chopping block. This will make it less than necessity to keep perfectly straight end cuts

The bobcat one is amazing. We burn a lot of pinus radiata here. White pine mainly , it splits real good too.
