Maverick 732 reception range?

Postby Chasdev » Tue Oct 04, 2016 11:58 am

How far will the signal remain reliable with the Mav 732 series temp gauges?
Will it transmit through the wall/s of my house?
I've been using a pair of Ivations for the last year but they are both starting to lose the signal/s even with new bat's..so time to upgrade but I want to be able to get a reading in my living room which is 75' away from the pit.

My Maverick 733 I just got doesn't lose signal when I am in my house. Maybe not quite 75' but I haven't had it lose signal yet.

Can't remember if mines a 732 or 733 but I've had great range in the house with it.

Same here - - - 75 feet plus and thru multiple walls. The only real issue I've had was running another wireless unit nearby - the display got confused. :dont:

I was thinking of running two at the same time, wonder if they do share the same freq? That would be a mess for sure..
Seems like (from exterior looks anyway) that several of the different brands are made by the same factory using the same design with brand and colors changed to make them look different...
Anybody know if the 33 is better than the 32?
I know the 33 is taller, or looks to be, and offers a different home screen with more options or maybe easier set up , but is it more accurate, better range, less filling, whitens my teeth or what?

I've had a 732 for a few years now. It's been great. Last month I ordered a 733...after I ordered it I had the same concern about what if they run the same frequency. That would be a poop show for sure. Anyways I used both the 732 and the 733 at the same time in 2 different smokers that where setting side by side. No problems...they both read their designated huck of meat perfectly. They must run on different frequencys .

The 32 and 33 are both available, the 32 is $10 cheaper...do you see an improvement with the 33 over the 32?

One thing that bugs me about the 32 - you have to open the battery compartment to turn the x-mitter unit on. I believe the 33 has an external on/off switch. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken on that.

Edit... I was correct.

I have both, but the external power buttons on the 733 are worth the extra $10 to me.

I don't remember having to remove the battery cover to turn on the transmitter on my 732 but.....I be old
Both the 732 and the 733 work great altho, both of their remotes lose reception once in a while inside my house roughly 75' from the bbq. Not a big deal, move the remote a couple feet and its working again.

I have three 732s. I don't have to open the battery compartment to turn it on. The transmitter has a button on the back, and the receiver has a button on the front.

After turning both the transmitter and the remote the only button I got to push is the sync button....upper left on the transmitter.
On the 733 I have not tested it yet on its advertised 300 ft range. I do like the ability of using it with 2 meat probes although the 3 ft long probes it comes with don't cut it. I had some extra generic 6 ft probes that I use with it.
The 733 has a lot of bells and whistles that I'll never use such as the meat menu. It's is a little more confusing to use then the 732. But then again I have a problem with reading instructions....I don't
