looking for kabob skewers recommendations

Postby Copasspupil » Sun May 06, 2018 11:47 am

I had 3 packages of wooden skewers but my wife likes to use them for marshmallows skewers instead or to light her candles. Now, I'm looking for them and she has used all of my packages. Not even a hey btw, I used your last one. Anybody have recommendation for some in stainless steel?

These are about 14" long and made from 1/16 x 3/16ths stock (approx) - - - I like the flat design because it holds the food in place when you pick them up and turn them over.

I have a couple that are stainless but not flat. I read about the style you mentioned and would like to pick up a few of them

I can't remember who it was but seems like WillieP or Capt'n or another Member had some double skewers that were the cat's meow but a tad pricey :dont: :?:

We use these and love them. Especially cooking on the round kettle. I can bend them however is needed to fit everything on the grill.

I only use the bamboo ones and soak before I skewer, as an aside what we love here is chicken with capsicum and red onion alternately skewered. BUT we recently went to a Brazilian BBQ restaurant where all meat is on metal skewers about 18 inches long, but the middle part of the metal is elliptical about 1 and a 1/2 inches wide by about 1/4 inch thick. I spoke to the guy that owns the joint, ( a native of New York ) btw. He said he bought most of his BBQ stuff including the kebab skewers from Brazil. I liked them because the shape of the shaft stopped the meat from moving. I will keep my eye out just in case I come across some.
