That's my first "smoker", still got it..I use it for my avatar pic..produced some great Q with with it..
It's a charcoal cooker but I've used straight post oak a bunch of times..had to seal the cook chamber door with heat tap and the gap between the firebox and cook chamber but for the bucks it's great!

It pretty much sits on the covered porch these days, after using it for a year or so I bought a stick burner then a Kamado then a pellet spitter so other than a small brisket cook last fall I don't use it at all anymore.
Worked great for a first timer though and still does ok if I want to tend fire all day..

Heck, that just makes me want to keep it...I've still got enough dry oak "mini-splits" to do two or three more cooks with it, so I guess it still has a home for another year at least..
As much as I hate tending fire all day, I sure love a fire and the smell of meat cooking over smoke...
That's biggest complaint with Kamado and pellet spitting, no fire to gaze into and no dry oak smoke rising..
