Jambo's BBQ Shack

Postby limey » Sat Aug 17, 2013 1:13 pm

Me and Big Ed just tried out Jamie Geer and Phillip Lujan new BBQ venture on 1187. I had the behemoth JamboTexan sandwich,it consists of two pork ribs, sausage link, smoked bologna, pulled pork, chopped brisket, sliced brisket in between two slices of Texas toast. Ed had the three meat plate-ribs, sausage, sliced brisket.
I had to eat the sandwich in layers and started with the ribs. We both agreed the ribs were the best we have ever paid for, cooked just right with the bite pull, excellent smoke and a sweet rub. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful, I had added a lil of the house sauce to it and it paired well with the pork, sweet and tangy. The one inch thick bologna was excellent as well. The brisket was great as well, the chopped had plenty of bark, was moist and flavorful. The sliced was also great, cooked to perfection, I hunkered down and finished this BBQ bad boy and joked to the shocked waitress, I need one to go. This by far is one of the best places to get your BBQ fix, prices are reasonable $12 for the JamboTexan and $13 for the combo plate. Big Ed also piped as we were leaving, just like we cooked it ourselves except we saved 6 hours cooking it. I think that would be an excellent one sentence review.
Gonna need to do a forumn get together here in the future.

That's a "weekend" Sammy...start eating on Friday night, roll thru Saturday like a highball train, and finish to the toothpick on Sunday afternoon just in time for church,
BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE

Bobby: "No."

Took me hour and a half to eat my first Jambo Texan - Gonna try to get it down in an hour Thursday - that is a heck of a BBQ bargain - all meats that Jambo BBQ Shack offer for $12.00 - The 3 meat plate is 13.00... even I can figure that math up.
I am all about a forum gathering at Jambo BBQ Shack.

Went for lunch and the jambo is one massive sandwich. I ate the ribs and sliced brisket there, had the bologna for dinner and my wife had the sausage (insert joke here). Still have chopped brisket and pulled pork left.

I was the only one there and Jamie was telling me a drunk driver drive into his bedroom over the weekend missing him by inches.

Sounds like a place to hit with the boys. What is the address so I can GPS it.
Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

OK so I look it up on google maps and there is an Angellos Pizza and a flooring tore at that address. Im just looking for a landmark so I know im close and dont overshoot it. is that close to where it is because I know google is off some times. I would use my GPS but it sorta broke when it fell out of the truck and hit the street.
