Re: Need Cole Slaw Dressing Recipe
Not much help from me my friend.
I've never made my own slaw.
I've always bought the pre made stuff in the bag. It comes with a bag of sauce .
I'm like you, I like it sweet so I add white sugar to the sauce. Goes good with pulled pork and ya can't get any easier.

I've done it Pardner but, IMHO, go to the Produce Section and Purchase Marie's Cole Slaw Dressing, hard to beat. It's refrigerated and should be close to the Lettuce/ Cabbage. Brookshire Bros carries it and if memory serves me right, you have one handy.

Re: Need Cole Slaw Dressing Recipe
I have used and liked this copycat recipe.
KFC COLESLAW
Ingredients:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 cups finely chopped cabbage (approx. 1 head)
1/4 cup shredded carrot (1 medium carrot)
2 tablespoons minced onion

* Be sure cabbage and carrots are chopped into very fine pieces (a little bigger than rice)
* Combine the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt and pepper in large bowl. Beat until smooth

Call me a cheat but I get lots of good comments on my slaw, and you guys can easily create my version, I use bests mayo and also thousand island dressing or seafood dressing. The sweetness of the cocktail dressing really makes this. Try it !!!!

I just use 1/2 cup of Miracle Whip, 1/3 cup of white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of course black pepper, and a package of cabbage and carrot mix from Walmart. Mix together and chill in the fridge for at least an hour .

Thanks, Gents, with my schedule looking the way it is this week, I think Marie's Coleslaw Dressing will have to be my selection this time. I appreciate all of the recipes and comments so thanks again

Re: Need Cole Slaw Dressing Recipe
Yo Rambo, I picked up 6 - 16oz packages of chopped Slaw Veggies today at Kroger but I had to run everything thru the Food Processor because it was way too coarse. Then I mixed all of the Veggies and with 2 jars of Marie's Coleslaw Dressing together and mixed well.
"I'm hear to SHOUT, my Friend, that is the best tasting coleslaw I have ever tasted next to my Grannie's and even then, it's a very close second. Sorry Granny."
Thanks again for the tip,
Emm

10-4, Pardnah, I can't imagine what he would say if he could see what Portland and some of those Cities are going thru at this time. He was a great friend, member and Pitmaster. R.I.P. Wild Bill
