Picked up the junk for a Peanut Butter Pie today and altho it certainly won't win any beauty contest, it will be molested in a couple of hours as soon as it is chilled sufficiently in the frig. Two things I might note here is using a large wooden spoon sure makes for ?easier? mixing as does the Cream Cheese Spread in stead of regular Cream Cheese. I just hope the Spread chills firm enuff to take it's place. My spray on whipped topping really sucked and I ran out even tho it was a brand new can. Also, if I end up making this for our company next weekend, I'm going to increase the quanity of the ingredients to almost double of what the Recipe calls for.
Come on 6pm
I also bought a pre-made graham cracker crust to use instead of what the Recipe calls for.

Re: It's Sooner's Fault
Did my first attempt at PBP last night. Found a very similar recipe (slightly larger amounts) and used a 9-inch crust - should have gotten a 10-incher. Filling was piled high above the crust edge and left no room for whipped topping. Good thing because it didn't really need it. Sampled a slice for lunch and it was dayme good.
Recipe used an extra 1/4 cup PB and doubled the cream cheese plus a teaspoon of vanilla extract. This would be fantastic for the mini-crusts they use in tarts. Thanks for posting about this.

Re: It's Sooner's Fault
Thanks for that update - - - I TOO am going to use a more plentiful ingredient on my next one which might be for this weekend when the Family comes up. Think I'll also use a chocolate graham cracker crust.

Re: It's Sooner's Fault
We really enjoy this Pie and today coming back from my Peeper Appt I was thinking about the leftover stuff that we had at home. Things like Graham Crackers, 1/2 jar Peanut Butter, some Cream Chez Spread and Powdered Sugar which I could put together and fix a PB Pie (no Kin to the Lawn Gyland PB)
Well, my taste buds were all locked in when I got home only to find that SWMBO had eaten all the Graham Crackers But wait, me says, she has lots of Ritz Crackers and "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? I wonder????? Well since Google is my Friend I decided to call up a
Ritz Cracker Pie Crust Recipe.
As fate would have it, there is was so I went to work making a crust.

Gang, the Wiffy said it was the best she'd had and liked it better than the Graham Cracker ones.
It also seems to slice and remove better also.
