Steak night

Postby JustinCouch » Sat Aug 03, 2019 4:16 pm

No honey mustard tonight. Just salt pepper and oil. I have never had Iowa premium steaks before. I must say they had less marbleling than the standard cuts of steak but I had to try them. I cut one of the steaks into three thin steaks for my wife. She wanted cheese steak. Hope they are good.

They were marked as ribeyes but I agree. The "look like" ribeyes. As I said earlier I have bought regular store bought with better marbling but I had to try them. Wife ended up ordering take out Mexican. One of the perks of this new house closer to town. So the cheese steaks got put on hold till later. I just pulled the steak from a reverse sear with an it of 118. It's resting in the oven till my fire is ready. I am burning some of my muscadine wood for the coal bed. I sold my Oklahoma Joe so I really don't need as much. I am saving up for a parrilla or Santa Maria grill. .

 not bad but I will stick to a better marbled cheaper steak.
