Re: Remembering the Heroes of THAT DAY
A very shocking day. I was in a flight to the world's biggest shoe fair in Germany when the planes struck the twin towers. The fair ended up being very sad and emotional. Normally a lot of American exhibitors and guests participate on that fair. None of them could come because all planes was grounded out of America. Lots of empty boots reminded us of the horror.
Everytime I go to New York I always go to ground zero. It's an emotional place and reminds us of the scales of the attacks.

Watched it all in horror and disbelief.
We live about 60 miles away. The next day, the smell of burning wire was all around, every flag was on display, and complete silence in the air. Our community lost a lot of people.

I happened to be watching TV when it started and I don't think that I have had my Emotions change places so rapidly before.
Never before or since have I been so Sad and Proud at the same time. GOD Bless America

Re: Remembering the Heroes of THAT DAY
Remember it vividly, was in Chicago on a training. Took us three days to get home; we were first flight out of O'Hare that morning. The idea of it still makes me furious. Always think particularly of the heroes on United Flight 93 who, ironically, saved the Capitol Building and likely thousands of lives through their sacrifice in battling to re-take the cockpit for 6 minutes, fighting hand to hand, until the plane went down in that field.
BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

Re: Remembering the Heroes of THAT DAY
A dear friend of mine's Wife is from Maryland and her best friend worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency in the Pentagon. Her Office took a direct hit that fateful day and she happened to be at Jury Duty. No doubt that she grieves deeply because of this as they remembered their fallen yesterday.

Re: Remembering the Heroes of THAT DAY
We have a memorial here in Christchurch, made up of twisted steel girders. If I have friends visit from other places, I normally include this visit as a reminder. Thoughts with you guys!

Re: Remembering the Heroes of THAT DAY
We never forget in our community here, since many people lost a loved one in the attack. We know a police officer who worked for the Port Authority & luckily was off-duty the day of the attack.
