Hello everybody.
First i want to apologize for my english which may not be good from time to time.
That beeing say; Hello everybody, I m Gus and I am from Belgium(wich explains why my english is not perfect).
I am 22 years old and I always have been interest by the american culture. I love to be outside, Belgium have lots of great place for that. I am also a huge history fan, specially WW2 but about every period interest me. I do some ww2 reenactment, which is a good way to get out and see, learn and share about ww2. I also do some airsoft.
I ve always loved BBQ. But since my trip in the states, I discover that i did everything wrong haha. So here I am to try to improve my skills on BBQ.
I also discover the BBQ sauce when i was over there. We have NOTHING quiet close from that. I came back in belgium with my bag full of it, but my stock are getting low. So I am also here to get some helps and tips on how to make some homemade BBQ sauce.
Here I am after some airsoft games.I m with the cowboy hats, something else I bring back from there
If you have any question, feel free to ask.

Re: Hello everybody.
Welcome aboard! Know that American culture and Texas culture aren't necessarily the same thing but the Texas style of Q beats Kansas, Memphis, et al.

Re: Hello everybody.
Thank you.
I live like 30minutes south of Bastogne. So I am really close from some of the most famous batle ground yes. I am also close from some parts of the french maginot line.
I do love all about it and try to see as much of it as i could.
I went in normandy, batle of the bulge and some other "less" know place. I also had the luck to go to holtzwir(not sure of the spelling) where Audie Murphy won his Medal of Honor. If there is some Marines around, Belleau wood is like 2hours30 away.
Well there s lots of interesting place, if i start talking you won t stop me anymore haha.

Re: Hello everybody.
Thank you all.
I will do my best to share my knowledge with you. Yes we have some great beers in Belgium(Best in the entire world if you ask me, but i may not be fair haha.)
I am mainly looking for a great BBQ sauce receipe. It s crazy we don t have any here.
Now do you guys know french fries are actually not from France? Everybody knows that except the english talker. It was invent in Belgium, and still a huge part of our culture. We have small cabin all over the contry, where they only do fries.
The thing i like better is what we call a "mitraillette" wich is the french words for Machine gun. It s a long bread, open on the side, fill with a meat of your choices(fried too), fries and a sauce. on top of it. Great stuff.
Our fries are slightly different then yours for what I see in CO. We fries them twice.
Well it s not BBQ but if the mods are ok, I can make a post to explain exactly how we do our fries here?

Re: Hello everybody.
Welcome Gus! Belgium is a very interesting place, a friend of mine lived in Brussels for a few years and always talked about eating the mussels there. We're interested in the area because a few years ago we bought a Bouvier des Flandres dog, which as you know is native to your country. He doesn't like the heat too much here but stays in the house anyway.
Do you speak German, French, Dutch? Or all?
Someone send this young man a good Texas BBQ sauce receipe quickly. We cannot have him go without a good sauce.
Welcome again.

Re: Hello everybody.
Thank you.
I already receive PM from people who send me receipe and offer me some more so it s all great. Now the problem is i need to decide which one to try first haha.
Thanks for your help anyway.
I am not a big fan of mussels, but it is a big Belgian part too. I speak french as my first language. I m from south of belgium. North speak dutch(actually flemish wich is close) and a very small part on the east speak german. I had some german lesson at school but i wasn t good at it, and time doesn t help.
North of contry is call "la flandre" so you should talk in flemish to your dog haha.
