Postby marvda1 » Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:45 am

i was at the irving cookoff this past weekend and they had a jambo pits backyard smoker for raffle.
it retails for $1775, cooking chamber 24" x 48", insulated fire box 24" x 24" x 20". looking at the picture on their website you don't began to imagine the size, this thing is huge. has anyone ever owned or used one?

ive never used one but built a clone and have only got to cook on it twice, my firebox is not insulated and is a true 24x24x20 and the pit itself is just a bit longer than 48. but it will hold temps within 5 degrees or so, and the best part is the pricetag...55 bux

Nice looking smoker. But there seems to be a lot leaks in it. The trailer picture shows smoke coming out everywhere..

3/16" on everything top to bottom, I can do it 1/4" but the price was getting out of control and there was little or no difference in heat. I'm just saying a square unit that has an entire lid opening up allows for easier access and more cooking space than working inside a round pipe.
