hi all

Postby sammy torres » Tue Jul 24, 2012 10:45 am

Hi everyone, from San Juan Puerto Rico.I've been smoking for some time now.Build a smoker myself 24"dia x 48"long with a 24" x 24" side fire box (working great actually). In PR we have a anual local comp.sponsored by Cattleman BBQ sauce that I got some good prices in different categories. But now I'm up to build a upright smoker from a Transfer Swith box that measures 5'h x 36"w x 20"d thinking in insulate the cooking chamber and add a off set fire box also insulated.I've been reading a lot on this lately but not sure if a side fire box is a good idea for this big box.Appreciate any suggestion that you guys can give.

Howdy Sammy, check out the Pits, Smokers, and Chuckwagons section from Board Index. Lots of builders and build jobs in there.

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."
