Can't post the link but look for Ugly Drum Smoker on Dallas Craiglist and its the only one there. What do y'all think. It's in my price range and can't decide on this or a WSM.

Build your own... It's satisfying to cook on something you built! I've come to completely love my UDS! The Craigslist one is nice though.

Looks well built to me. I started off with a flat top, and they do a decent job, but a dome lid lets you raise the rack to the top which, IMHO, produces a really sweet smoking environment.
I sure don't agree with the cook times provided in the listing, at least not at 225F.

UDS or WSM? I would go for the UDS, but I am extremely biased. :laughing7:

Such hard choices. I'm using this mainly for briskest. So now it s between this built UDS or a 22.5 WSM.

Pulled the trigger on the UDS rather than a WSM. Much cheaper and this guy was VERY reasonable on price. Can't wait to test it out. :texas:

Went with that guy on Craigslist I see. Did you get any of the options? I remember reading that they only come with one grate.

I got the basic one with only one grate. I'm very happy with it and may make one down the road. As for now this and my Masterbuilt I have more than enough room for what I normally cook.

As for the guy, he was extremly nice. One of the only Aggie graduates I've been able to have a good football conversation with. He's a stay at home Dad and makes these for extra money. As a Dad who is wrapped around his daughter's finger it was nice knowing I helped a guy with the same problem!!

Nice....I'd get one myself but shipping on the thing is a killer.

I was lucky that he comes to DFW often. I was actually on the way to where he was going so he even dropped it off at my door.
