Hello everyone.
I currently live in burleson area. I've been bbqing for only a year or so now. I was using a custom built setup that resembled a Lang 36" that my stepdaughter bought for $75.00 2 years ago. I currently have a brinkmann offset that's 13 years old now. It's my current project until I get se cash saved up.

Nice looking pit. How thick is the star plate & how well does it hold temp?

It is 1/4" it holds temp pretty well, especially with the insulated fire box. I am about to put seals on the fire box door and the cooking chamber doors to further help regulate the air flow.
