Re: Happy Birthday Boots
My thanks to everyone and a very large shout out HOWDY to Parts’ boy with a shared birthday, good on ya mate.
Every year now at this time I take time to remember all the blessings we have been showered with as Texans and Americans both, which in the quiet still light of the wee hours under a starry sky, is a very humbling realization of the love of The Big Man. So thankful again to have the blessings of good family, great friends, and peace and prosperity in the freest nation on earth, granted by a supreme providence and guarded, as I’ve said before, by tough men on foreign shores and at home in the pursuit of protecting us all. Bless all of them this day.
But a quick digression to the birthday swag would be in order too! While the family treated me to a wonderful dinner at Rise No. 1 in Dallas (highly recommended but take out a loan), I DID get to exercise my right to exercise the self birthday gift I bought; a nice DOUBLE BIT AXE from the local True Value!!! It made short work of some hackberry stumps that have been sore vexing me for many months, as every spring they serve as the nest for a bunch of despicable poison oak. Still need to burn the short stumps down to really kill the buggers, but that’s just part 2 of the fun.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Very Nice "Labrys" - - - you'll get lots of Service from that Quality - - - I always preferred that extra weight they had when splitting wood.
