Happy Forth of July.

Postby DATsBBQ » Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:39 pm

I am currently living in York County Virgina which is less than a couple of miles of where Cornwallis surrendered in Oct of 1781, thus establishing our independence from King George of England. It is hard to imagine the struggles our Forefathers endured in order to win the Revolutionary War. I will set aside my personal thoughts about toppling statures honoring these men, but know that what they accomplished is truly worthy of reflection and admiration. I could go on and on about this part of our history, mostly learned from a history prof at Galveston College, but I will not. I just wish to simply wishing all the TBBQ Forum and safe and happy 4th of July. Wish I was in Texas to celebrate it.

And a Happy 4th of July weekend you you as well, and to all of the TBBQF members. And I share your sentiments on the history of this country and what our fore fathers had to endure to ensure the success of this Great Nation. We are witnessing some very disheartening things going on right now. And shameful they are being allowed to get away with it.

+1. The symbolism of the barefoot Continental soldier standing his post on his hat in the snow at Valley Forge is largely lost on a younger generation, but certainly not forgotten by ours.

Be well, Brothers.

Wish you all a happy 4th of July tomorrow. This will be the first time in 10 years we aren't in the US on the 4th. Love your celebration. Since the US and Norway shares many common values I'm glad our countries are allies and friends.

Have a safe and a fantastic weekend.

There are some people paying attention to your independence day here. One sailboat close to us has hoisted the stars & stripes. and in the boat next to us is a sweet lady from Michigan. Married to a Norwegian. Again, happy 4th of July.Image
